On 25-26 June, the next European Council will take place.
The annotated draft agenda was discussed by the General Affairs Council at the beginning of this week.
The European Council will discuss:
Security challenges
– Review of the 2003 European Security Strategy;
– Defence – following up on the December 2013 European Council meeting on Defence;
– Relations with Russia and situation in Ukraine;
– Follow-up to orientations agreed at the Special European Council on migration;
– Stock-taking of measures agreed at the informal European Council on terrorism.
Economic issues
– Digital Single Market;
– Conclusion of the 2015 European Semester and country-specific recommendations;
– State of play on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP);
– 4 presidents report on the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU).
