Wednesday 17 June the Commission presented its ‘Action Plan for Fair and Efficient Corporate Taxation in the EU’.
The Action Plan includes a proposal for a common consolidated corporate tax base, something proposed before but no agreement on the issue was reached. According to Commissioner Moscovici, the proposal is now part of a global trend, which would increase the chance of a deal.
The Action Plan furthermore includes initiatives to tackle tax avoidance, and the launch of a public consultation to assess whether certain tax information of companies should be public.
